Stories of a cowgirl living life by her own lights

Out with the old, in with the new

By Jesse Bussard

I have been milling around, procrastinating really, at what I would write for my final post of 2012. Other bloggers counted down their top posts and some shared their favorite experiences from the past year. And while these are both great ideas, I suppose, for me it just didn’t seem to fit what this blog is evolving into. I’m not one to look backward. I prefer onward and upward.

Two years ago I started Pearl Snaps with the intentions of ‘agvocating’ and sharing with you my thoughts and experiences on all things of an agrarian flair. That is still my intention to a point, but this blog and myself have evolved over the past two years. We’ve changed and became something more than what was before. With these changes the old way I did things just doesn’t feel like it belongs here anymore.

I have reached a new awareness of both myself and the world around me. Now more than ever before, I am comfortable in my own skin, more confident in my abilities, and more sure of the direction my life needs to take.

So what will I do in 2013? I will follow my passion more fervently than ever before. I will listen to my heart and God’s will for my life instead of the naysayers that try to discourage or tell me that my goals are not achievable. I will set high goals and I will work my ass off to reach them. And I will do all this knowing that what I am doing it for isn’t for me at all, but for the greater whole that I am a part of…God, my family, my friends, the ranching community, my readers, agriculture, and Mother Earth.

Look for new and inspiring things to happen with Pearl Snaps as we go into the New Year. I will be refocusing my blog on specific topics that I feel need to have a larger emphasis in the ranching community. I will also be sharing with you more about my trials, tribulations, learning experiences, and successes that have helped mold me into the individual I am today.

So until next year, God bless you and yours.

Thanks for reading,
Pearl Snaps

I feel this too. I think as we get older its something that happens. I’m really glad we ‘met’ and became friends. I am confident that this year you will find your path! Thank you Jesse! Happy New Year!

  2. Sounds like progress to me.

You go girl!!! Keep the first one on that list (God) in first place and you’ll be fine. :)
